Carnaby & Soho

Shaftesbury Capital is the largest landowner in Carnaby and Soho and is committed to building an exemplar in estate stewardship backed with substantial annual investment.

Soho & Carnaby already has a strong community spirit and is a truly mixed used area with residents, businesses, performers, religious and cultural institutions co-existing in a small geographical area and shared with in excess of 40 million visitors annually. Shaftesbury Capital takes a stewardship role here and in addition to CCTV and security also provides additional street cleansing and leads on initiatives such as the introduction of coffee cup recycling.

As part of our ongoing efforts to make our areas thriving and harmonious places to live, work and visit we have worked with key stakeholders to create a Carnaby and Soho Community Charter. This is a voluntary code of conduct for all community members, including both our customers and neighbours.

The purpose of this Charter is to set a voluntary framework code of conduct for all occupiers in the community to co-exist in a neighbourly manner. The aim is for everyone to take pride in helping to deliver a vibrant, environmentally friendly, safer, healthier and where possible, quieter neighbourhood, whilst balancing the need for residents amenity, with the viability and requirements of businesses and expectations of visitors to the area.

We encourage all members of the Carnaby and Soho community to read the Charter and sign up to agree to the principles and ways of working it contains.

The Charter will be periodically reviewed to consider necessary amendments.
