As part of our wider vision for the area, Shaftesbury Capital is also currently preparing proposals for some upgrades to the entrances and roof at Kingly Court and is inviting feedback before we bring forward a planning application.

Public Realm

Shaftesbury Capital are investing in the future of Carnaby Street and beginning the next chapter, developing emerging concept designs to guide how its streets and spaces could evolve over the coming years.

These designs have been informed by feedback gathered during our early engagement, alongside ongoing discussions with Westminster City Council. The project team is continuing to work closely with the Council as the proposals develop, with any improvements expected to be delivered in phases over time, subject to the necessary approvals.

Our ambition is to celebrate and reinvigorate Carnaby Street’s unique character while making it greener, more accessible and better connected. This vision has formed the starting point of a wider conversation. During our early engagement, we invited those who live in, work in and visit the area to share what they value most about Carnaby Street and its neighbouring streets, and how these places could be improved for the future. At this stage, only Carnaby Street will be progressed.

This community check-in built on last year’s early engagement and continued the conversation about the future of Carnaby Street. We shared updated concept designs to present our progress and gather feedback ahead of the next stage of design development.
